Lime Thinks Different

  • Straight talk

You don't want a consultant to parrot back to you what you already know and believe. The magic is in divergent thinking and, sometimes, in constructive conflict. We believe we have an obligation to our clients to call it as we see it, no matter how tough the message. We are direct, honest, solutions-focused partners. You may not always agree with us, but you will always be armed with the full range of viewpoints to make decisions.

    Straight talk

"Sarah has an amazing way of getting to the core of issues, but in a way that is empathetic to the players involved. And somehow when she tells you like it is—she does it in a way that you can hear instead of blocking it out."

    Jackie Yeaney, CMO Ellucian
  • Invisible made visible

Culture is one of the most talked-about yet least understood aspects of organizational performance. Lime knows culture. We see the layers of your organization beneath the surface. The forces and dynamics that are driving (or blocking) performance that most leaders can't see. We describe it, identify key distinctions and power boundaries, and put leaders in the position to make informed choices.

    Invisible made visible

"In our early years, we didn’t talk about culture much. We hadn’t documented it all. We just built a business that we wanted to work in. And, that was great. But the real return on culture happened when we started getting more deliberate about it. By writing it down. By debating it. By taking it apart, polishing the pieces and putting it back together. Iterating. Again . And again.”

  • Mindsets shifted

Mindsets drive the decisions and actions that ultimately shape results. You can't get new and better results with the same old thinking. While changing boxes and lines and reinforcing performance structures, will have some effect, sustained improvement requires shifting how leaders think. We are experts at understanding and shifting mindsets - change from the inside out - to produce remarkable results.

    Mindsets shifted

"Working with Lime stretched me to be accountable, not only for myself but to assume a shared accountability for the wider team. If you want stretch, fundamental positive change and to tap into deeper personal resourcefulness and potential, I would recommend that you talk to Lime.”

Claudia Forward, Executive Manager Process Architecture, Enterprise Services, Commonwealth Bank
  • Less is more

We believe most leadership teams try to do too much. They allow their fear of saying "no", or of making bold decisions to corral them into spreading their attention thin. The result is - unremarkable results! Lime works just as hard at NOT doing the wrong things as we do at taking action on the right things. We say "No"... and help our leaders do the same in the right moments.

    Less is more

"People think that focus is saying yes to the thing you've got to focus on. But that's not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are."

    Steve Jobs
  • A systems approach

Organizations are living, interdependent systems. They evolve in ways that are not always expected, nor in line with management expectations. Lime architects and helps deliver large-scale change by leveraging our system expertise. We test, learn, iterate and monitor so that as the change progresses we can continue to adapt the approach as needed to meet the evolution of the organizational system.

    A systems approach

"Systems thinking is a discipline for seeing wholes. It is a framework for seeing interrelationships rather than things, to seeing patterns of change rather than static snapshots."

    Peter Senge
  • Bias for action

Information overload depresses performance rather than enhancing it. Lime's approach to data is to get as much as we need, no more and no less, to start driving change in the right direction. We marry quantitative analytics with nuanced qualitative insights. We are impatient. We push leaders to move a little before they are ready, rather than a little after. We make some mistakes but they are less than the mistake of insufficient momentum.

    Bias for action

"Lime collected primary data - and lots of it - from stakeholders inside our organization and from our customers to paint a highly informed and relevant picture of how our team worked and where we could improve. They aren’t just strategic on paper – Sarah and her team have an amazing ability to understand and move the practical levers that make the biggest difference - quickly."
